12 Days of Christmas Dips: Cranberry Cream Cheese Dip

Brandon has said (multiple times) that all he needs for it to feel like Thanksgiving is cranberry from a can. Um, yuck. This year, to satisfy his love of cranberries, I decided to try this unique recipe I found on Pinterest... and I bought a can for back up but didn't even need it!

Since Thanksgiving is over, the red & green color of this dip can work for Christmas parties as well!

12 oz pkg fresh cranberries
1/4 c green onions, chopped
1/4 c cilantro, chopped
1 jalapeño pepper
1 1/4 c sugar
1/4 t cumin
2 T lemon juice
16 oz cream cheese, softened
dash of salt

Pour cranberries in a food processor and run until they're finely chopped. Remove the seeds from your jalapeño pepper and cut into small pieces. Combine everything except the cream cheese in a mixing bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to give the flavors time to set. Spread cream cheese in a glass serving dish. Strain some juices from the cranberry mix, then spread over cream cheese. Enjoy!
