chef #18: hannah's seafood dip

though i love to cook and bake, i rarely make my own recipes from scratch. after eating lots of good seafood dips this year, i decided that it was time to create my own. it was pretty good (but not perfect!) on the first try. it tasted a bit too “seafood-y” for my tastes. i know that’s the point of a seafood dip, but it was just very fishy. so… it’s a work in progress to get it just right:

HANNAH'S SEAFOOD DIP
(things in italics i’ve changed a bit and plan to edit next time)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
6 oz lump crab meat, drained (didn’t realize how expensive this stuff is! eeek!)
1/4 c shrimp, cooked & chopped
1/2 c shredded parmesan cheese
3 T mayonnaise

2 T milk
3 T chopped parsley
3 T chopped green onions
2 t lemon juice
1 t hot sauce
1 t worcestershire
1 t pepper
1/4 t garlic powder
blend cream cheese, mayo, milk, lemon juice, hot sauce, and worcestershire in a bowl with hand mixer. add all other ingredients and stir with a spoon until well combined. pour into glass dish and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. serve with bread, celery, or crackers.
